OTHER WORLDLY LANDSCAPES

To make these other worldly photographs, I used liquify, hue/saturation, contrast, paint brush, and levels. Liquify helped make weird shapes not seen in the everyday world. Hue/saturation was used to make changes in the color not seen in everyday things. Contrast was to change the color of the objects. Paint brush was to add different colors to make ordinary things unordinary. Levels was used to make the photo darker or brighter.

STUDIO PORTRAITS WITH STROBES AND GELS

Writing Critique:

This photography is very breathtaking, since the colors go good together and are a good combination. It also shows her personality like calm but outgoing. The lighting was arranged in front of her and the gel strobe behind her. This image is beautiful and stunning. This shows great composition like, the contrast of colors. As well for the mirror of her self in a cloudy and foggy image it shows great composition. The photo also demonstrates how the girl is stylish and outgoing, but also calm and serious at the same time. The tint in her hair is viewable which the colors of the gel strobes pops the color of her hair, making it gorgeous. The position of the girl changes the way the lighting is positioned at which makes the image interesting and attractive. The posture of the girl shows a really good dimension for the light to hit her nicely, making the photo very stunning. The color combination is so beautiful that it brings out the girl’s eye color and personality. The hand position also demonstrates a good position for her photograph. This photo position of the girl shows a different posture/position that isn’t used all the time which is unique. The foggy mirrored image in front of the girl shows a really cool dimension that is very rare and unique in this image. I really enjoy the color combination, foggy mirrored image, and the position since they are unique. As well, I enjoy the image because the composition of this image is outstanding. It demonstrates how the image is not ordinary and how each person has their own style. This image is an eye-catching photo, because it caught my eye very quickly. Which it was because the image is not a common photo you see everyday. Lastly, the image is very beautiful and I think the photographer of this phot did an extraordinary job to capture this girl’s personality.

Put Yourself in History

I chose Coco Chanel for my put yourself into history because I like her French fashion designs and her perfume. Which she is the one that invented the classic little black dress, which since it was so amazing it became popular even years after she had made it popular. Coco Chanel was a businesswoman and a fashion designer which I admire her work because her work was very popular but began to fall apart due to the war.

National Geographic Magazine Cover Review

FILL FLASH OUTSIDE

Fill flash outside is used to illuminate the darker areas of an image, especially the subject. When subject is underexposed due to the deficit of sunlight and the other lights, or even sometimes due to the backlight, fill flash is used to boost the correct expose for the subject. When it comes to portraits, fill flash can liven up them by ironing out the unwanted shadows and even the dark circles under the eyes of your subject. As well, it can evenly scintillate the subject on luminous and shiny days. Fill flash can help to banish the shadows letting the photos come to life. With the combination of both the natural light and flash, you can bring out the finest output. That’s why you have to also make sure the camera has the correct settings to achieve your intended results.

PAINTING WITH LIGHT

 Critique-

See the source image

This photo is very eye catching because it looks like a portal with very bright lights. This looks amazing with no words to describe but that the photographer of this photo created great composition and contrast with the lights. The photo creates a nice portal with lights and it brings out the personality of the girl.

ARTICLE READ AND WRITE- Silhouette Photography

The technique of a silhouette can be used to add glamour or intensity to many everyday photographs – including still lifes, vacation pictures, or even family photographs. A silhouette can be described as a well-defined, black shape or object that stands out against a brightly lit, uncomplicated background (white background). Examples of silhouettes can be a picture of a sailboat silhouetted against the setting sun, a fireman battling a blaze, or even a solitary figure walking along a beach can all be familiar examples of this type of technique. These are great examples because the silhouette adds to the mood of an already strong image, which intensifies the mood with a sense of tranquility, danger, or even loneliness. Most important rule in exposing for a silhouette is to always expose the background, and not the subject. It’s also best to underexpose an additional 1/2 to one full stop if there is a chance to take more than one shot and bracket exposures. By exposing the background the natural result would be to create a silhouette of the comparatively dimly lit subject in the foreground. Lastly, the subject must be easily recognizable, it should dominate the frame, and it should contrast heavily with the background.
